Guided EvolutionHe started a new simulation
In his computer program
"That last planet didn't work,"
He said with a sigh.
"Here's to hoping this one does."
Inputing algorithms and specifications,
He sat and watched his creations grow
But fell asleep at his computer.

Three hours passed,
And He awoke to find His planet
Not as He'd remembered it.
Strange things moved upon its face
Causing unwelcome disturbance.
A look of exasperation crosed His face
And he programmed in an impact--
99% extinction.
"They that survive will evolve,"
He assured himself.

Wife beckoning him to dinner,
He forgot to turn off the program.
When he returned from his mea
Dangerous CuriosityThe crimson golds
The darkened folds
Strewn out about the floor
Signs of foul witchcraft
Dark magic here abodes
Such allure as this incites
Cannot be denied
But why is it in our nature
To go toward the danger?
Something forbidden
Something lost
Something that will burn
Fell magic all around
We close our moral doors
And yet peep through the keyhole
Permitting some curiosity
Into the World of Darkness
And as the chimes strike midnight
The so-called "witching hour"
Strange thoughts abide
In keen young minds
Who test the bloodwaters
To see if they can keep
From drowning.

The instant I re-watched Planet of the Ood and saw the ads like this, I was smitten with the inspiration to do this. The idea made my brain go, and I quote, "!!!! XD" So, of course, I had to do it.
