DWFU T-shirt 9

Description

San Antonio Doctor Who Fans Unite was/is having a t-shirt design contest, and me being me, and having been flustered at the lack of chance to design t-shirts, went straight away to it. Thanks to ~BanishedPrince I have a copy of Adobe Illustrator, which I learned to use specifically for this. (Much to my amusement, one month into the contest, I was the only one two have submitted anything...)

The colors are that which I intended to be on the shirt.

"Oh, my boys, my poncho boys, if we're gonna die, let's do it looking like a Peruvian folk band." --Amy Pond, Amy's Choice

Is there really any more explanation that can be given for the background? I was gonna have it pink and white (hot pink of course, I wouldn't be seen in any other pink without it being for acting purposes) but then I realized that I'd better change that for the same reason the "Got my spaceship, got my boys, my work here is done" t-shirt idea got axed by myself--it doesn't exactly cater to the male fans. Oh, well.

The nightmare of it was finding the right lipstick imprint. All the ones but this one looked like someone held it up to either an unconscious, unwilling, or elderly kisser and Amy is none of those, so it was pretty hard. (Great, now I have that particular mental image in my head...)

The seed of this idea was when I was talking with my sister and remembered that delightful quote above and to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Disaster Area t-shirts. So if Disaster Area can have t-shirts, why not Amy and the Poncho Boys? (Even if the Dream Lord is their lyricist...)

(Mental image please leave!)

The kiss because she's a kissagram...made sense to me, anyway. Even if the explanation came after the idea. Effect does sometimes preceed cause!

(Go...away...thoughts of wierdness)

And, you know, I thought of those shirts with "_____ tour (year x)" on them and thought how amusing it would be to add them. Then I was gonna say 2015 because that's when the Upper Le(a)dworth (too lazy to check spelling at the moment) dream took place. And then I realized it doesn't really and it would get long and confusing to explain it to someone who doesn't get it. -.- So I didn't create a situation I might have to.

And I'm gonna stop typing now because the mental image of Kissagram Amy in her 80s, half unconscious is gonna ruin my day. Bad brain.

First, I would like to take this moment to say:
I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!1!

Lol, sorry to hear about the mental image. Also, I think the tour bit should probably go on the back of the T-shirt. On the front it'd be too distracting from the sheer, simple amusingness of the Poncho Boys. On the back, though, it would just perpetuate the hilarity.
